The Academy of Politics Region II was founded in 1949. Its forerunner was the Southern Party School (Truong Chinh School). The academy is a training centre for key leaders and management officials and political theory and public administration researchers of the Party and the State as well as officials of socio-political organizations at district level and higher levels.

It is also a centre for the research of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, as well as the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, and political and administration sciences in the southern region.

The Academy of Politics Region II has a 21-room library with 5,000 book titles and over 200 newspapers and magazines, meeting the regular study and research need of more than 250 readers each day.
